Roots of Modern Conflict: A Framework for Understanding Russia-Ukraine and U.S.-China Interactions
Geopolitical conflicts can often seem distant and disconnected, but the sad reality is that they still harm millions of real people every year. International relations theory allows us to better comprehend the circumstances and decisions that lead to conflict, especially when we have little in common with the parties involved. In this workshop, participants will utilize realist, liberal, and constructivist frameworks to unravel the intricate fabric of major current conflicts, specifically Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Palestine, and U.S.-China. Our exploration will culminate in a group exercise, where students will apply these theories to develop a better intuition for global politics.
