CCOP- Curious Cardinal's Conference of Parties: International Environmental Policy
The workshop aims to introduce students to the complex world of international environmental negotiations and policymaking. It specifically simulates the annual COP, which is the most significant gathering of nations to discuss and negotiate actions to combat climate change. The real COP meetings involve representatives from almost every country in the world, making decisions on issues such as greenhouse gas emissions reduction, climate finance, adaptation strategies, and more. During the CCOP workshop, participants can expect to delve into the fundamental principles of international environmental policy. This may include an overview of key treaties and agreements, an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of different countries, and an exploration of the challenges and opportunities associated with global environmental governance.
